Celebrate all things boutique at The Block Market in Windermere
This weekend, a boutique market will be held at the Bean Around the Block Cafe in Windermere, Durban.
The people of KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) can admit that they love a good market. This weekend, the Bean Around The Block Cafe is hosting its first market called The Block Market.
The Block Market is the first of its kind, and while it may be a boutique market, it promises to bring all things cutesy and creative. The curated boutique market is designed for creativity, connection and charm.
We spoke with Neelo Khan, the Marketing Director, about the event's motivation and what she had to say:
Our motivation behind hosting this market stems from a deep desire to empower small businesses and create a vibrant space where the community thrives. We wanted to build more than just a place to shop — a curated experience where people can discover unique local products, enjoy delicious food, and connect through fun, creative activities. We hope the market becomes a regular gathering point that brings people together — a place where small businesses feel supported, and the community feels inspired. Whether you're here to shop, sip, paint, or soak in the atmosphere, there's something special waiting for you.
The Block Market will have charmed tote bags, hand-painted tees, glowing candles, Quran verses that speak to the soul, scrubs that glow you up, and permanent jewellery.
There will also be plants, furniture, stickers, branding and sweet treats. Each stall promises to exude a little magic...You can also choose to paint a trinket, decorate a cake, or sip, shop, and soak it all in.
