This cocktail has been one of the most popular drinks for years and years in Mexico.

If you were wondering what Paloma means, it's a Spanish term which stands for 'dove'.

There has been a huge debate as to who the inventor of this amazing drink was.

Many Mexicans have speculated that it was Don Javier Delgado Corona, who was the owner of a bar called La Capilla.

Just as every cocktail has a signature ingredient which sets it apart from other cocktails, the main ingredient for the Paloma is a grapefruit.

Here's how you can make your own Paloma:

Ingredients

  • Lime wedge
  • Coarse salt for glass rim
  • Tequila
  • Grapefruit juice or soda
  • Lime juice
  • Ice

  1. You dip your glass rim into the coarse salt - this is completely optional.
  2. You add your ice into the glass
  3. You add your grapefruit soda.
  4. You add a shot of Tequila.
  5. You add a shot of lime juice as well as the lime wedge.
  6. You stir the ingredients together and enjoy your drink.
