This Father’s Day weekend, Durban is about to get loud, fast, and downright outrageous as Gas Motorshow 2025 takes over Suncoast.
It’s not just a car show. It’s an entire lifestyle takeover.
What's in the tank this year?
The 2025 Gas Motorshow is a petrolhead's dream. There's everything to get your blood pumping and your adrenaline spiking:
- Spinning and drifting that’ll leave your jaw on the floor
- Custom, classic and JDM cars flexing harder than your gym buddy on arm day
- Race simulators for the gamers who swear they could’ve gone pro
- Stunt show by Hollywood’s Didi Bizzarro - and yes, it’s as insane as it sounds
- Freestyle motocross madness with gravity-defying backflips
- A music festival vibe with afterparties that’ll keep you moving long after the engines cool
Did somebody say stunts?
This year, we’re witnessing a continent-first stunt by international stunt driver Didi Bizzarro.
He’s a third-generation stuntman and certified Hollywood daredevil (you’ve probably seen his work in Fast X, John Wick, and Red Notice).
Didi’s pulling off a triple threat performance with a car, bike, and truck.
He’ll even send a BMW 325i through a firewall in tribute to his grandfather’s legendary stunt at the 1975 Rand Show.
Beyond the smoke and stunts, Gas Motorshow’s got heart.
Reece Williamson from the KZN Spin Association spoke about using the platform to spotlight local talent, especially powerhouse female spinners like Stacey Lee May & Kayla Oliphant.
Durban Tourism’s Hlengiwe Dube also highlighted how this event is boosting Durban’s economy, attracting tourists, investors, and creating opportunities for young people in the motor industry.
With over 30,000+ tickets already sold, it’s clear Durban’s feeling this one.
