Meet the first South African couple aiming to accomplish The Grand Slam

A Pietermaritzburg couple has channelled their adventurous nature by running marathons around the world.

A Marathon Grand Slam is completed when runners finish a marathon distance of 42.195 km (26.2 miles) or longer on each of the Seven Continents, as well as the North Pole.
The Pienaars have completed all seven marathons on all seven continents, and in order for them to receive that glorious Grand Slam, they are now taking on the Arctic Ocean at the North Pole Marathon.
