Inspiring Durban man turns paper into cash
Updated | By East Coast Breakfast
Here is the story of a man who turned 'can't' into 'can'. A Durban man has become an entrepreneur by making and selling confetti. He joined us in studio on Friday to chat with us.
Listen to our interview with Dave or read the details under the podcast.
Dave Schmidt is a 30-year old who was born with Down Syndrome, but he hasn't allowed that to stop him from being an entrepreneur.
Dave's Confetti Shop started as a little favour to his sister-in-law's bridal company which saw him helping out by making the confetti for the confetti poppers.
Two years later, Dave's pile of confetti boxes grew taller than him, and that's when the family realised it was time to take his confetti online.
With the help of his family, Dave is now open for business as an online store called Dave's Shop.
Since starting his online confetti business, Dave has already sold over 500 boxes.
It’s a celebration with @davesshopsa 🙌🏻♥️ #ECRBreakfast
