It's holiday season and visiting our favourite eateries with out furry friends would be ideal for those people who are about giving their pets different experiences.

So, since you are off and taking a break these holidays, why not go to the restaurant with your pet?

Durban has a handful of pet-friendly restaurants you can take your pet(s) to.

Have a look at five of our favourites: 

Oh My Soul Café (Durban North)

This restaurant is proudly vegan and they welcome whatever animal/pet you may have. You'll love that they have a special menu for your dog, if that's what you bring. You'll find things like a 'Hound Dog Nice Cream' and pumpkin-and-banana biscuits on the menu. 

So not only are you fed and given attention, they give equally to your dog.

The Oyster Box Hotel (Umhlanga)

One of the five-star hotels in Durban facing the sea welcomes pets. They also have a dog menu called Dogs' Delights, which includes Woof Waffles with boerewors and gravy and toasted bread with cheese or scrambled eggs amongst other meals.

Bike and Bean (Snell Parade)

After a refreshing swim or walk on the beach, you are welcome to enjoy some coffee, a tasty snack, and the beautiful views of the ocean. The owner of the place shared that she loves dogs and is very happy to have them in her restaurant. 

Your little dog will be welcomed with a water bowl and can even be served a doggy cappuccino. The owner also admits that she sometimes treats well behaved pets with a little piece of bacon or something tasty.

The Galley Beach Bar and Grill (Ballito)

The seafront restaurant serves casual seafood dishes with relaxing views. 

All you have go tot do is find a spot on the deck to enjoy good old-fashioned fish ’n chips while your pooch dines from the Canine Cuisine menu, which features Paw-Some Snacks, Hound Dog Heaven, and the Pooch breakfast among other meals for your pet. 

The bowls of water are on the house for you furry friend.

Old Town Italy (Umhlanga)

This Italian market eatery allows you to bring your dogs along for a morning coffee and pastry. 

Although, they are only allowed outside and must be on a leash, but there’s ample space on the pavement for them to bask as you dine.
