SA COVID-19 cases increase to 16 433

South Africa's coronavirus death toll's moved closer to the 300 mark.

Another 22 people have lost their lives from COVID-19 related illnesses in the past 24 hours, bringing the total to 286.
The number of infections has jumped to 16 433 - after another 918 cases were identified.
Health Minister Zweli Mkhize says there have been 7 298 recoveries so far.

In KwaZulu Natal, there are 1567 confirmed cases, 45 deaths and 818 recoveries.
Mkhize says as the country prepares for level three of the lockdown at the end of the month.
The elderly, children and those living with chronic diseases must take extra precautions to avoid possible exposure to COVID-19.
