Ramaphosa set to address nation tonight

South Africans will have to wait until this evening to hear from the President Cyril Ramaphosa.
Ramaphosa will address the nation tonight on government's latest measures to contain the spread of the coronavirus.
Minister in the Presidency, Jackson Mthembu took to Twitter this morning to confirm the address.
"His Excellency President Cyril Ramaphosa will address the nation this evening on the coronavirus pandemic. At that stage the President would have finalized measures to be undertaken to mitigate impact of the virus to our people and the economy."

Ramaphosa was locked in a meeting with the National Command Council till the late hours of last night.
Mthembu says the public will be informed of the time of the address during the course of the day.
"During the day we will inform the media and the nation of the exact time when the President will make the address."
On Sunday, the number of COVID-19 infections in South Africa rose to 274 confirmed cases.
