Mthonjaneni staff return to work following 19 COVID-19 infections
Updated | By Nomfundo Ngcobo
Cooperative Governance in KZN says employees at Melmoth's Mthonjaneni Local Municipality are returning to work today.
They have been work remotely for under a week after 19 staff members at the northern KZN offices contracted COVID-19.
The building has been sanitised and decontaminated AND other employees have been tested.
COGTA spokesperson, Senzo Mzila, says the municipality assured them that there won't be disruptions to service delivery.
"Measures had been prepared before hand", he said.
"As you would know COGTA has been working with municipalities to ensure plans are in place in case of any COVID-19 cases", Mzila said.
