Melmoth municipal office shut after 19 staffers contract COVID-19

KZN Cogta has confirmed that they have temporarily shut down the Mthonjaneni Local Municipal offices in Melmoth, in northern KZN after 19 employees tested positive for COVID-19.
Decontamination and sanitisation of the offices were underway on Wednesday.
The department says in the meantime, staff are continuing to work from remote places while proper measures are being implemented to sanitise the building.

Cogta MEC, Sipho Hlomuka says staff are being tested and contact tracing is are underway.
"I have requested that the mayor engages with senior management to identify all employees who happened to be close to the infected.
"So that we engage with the Department of Health to screen and test those employees."
