Holiday accommodations in KZN to compile tourist database
Updated | By Lauren Beukes
Hotels, Bed and Breakfasts and lodges in KwaZulu-Natal will have to compile a database of all tourists booked into their establishments.
This is the directive from Tourism MEC Nomusa Dube-Ncube.
She says this will help them keep track of the movement of tourists - especially those from high-risk coronavirus countries.
Guests' nationality, date of arrival and places they have been to will be documented.

The MEC's spokesperson, Ndabezinhle Sibiya says other regulations have also been established - which include quarantine.
"Tourists have been advised to stay where they are and to be quarantined for 14 days to ensure screening as per the World Health Organisation regulations. It's important to see where they are, especially tourists from high-risk countries."
He added that these facilities must provide no further accommodation until the screening processes are done, and COVID-19 results return negative.
