COVID-19 deaths climb to 11 in SA

Two more COVID-19 related deaths have been reported - bringing the country’s toll to 11.
The number of positive cases has also risen to 1655 with 70
new cases since yesterday.
Health Minister, Dr. Zweli Mkhize confirmed the latest victims both had underlying conditions.
An 86-year-old man from KZN who was admitted to hospital on 26 March for bronchopneumonia and respiratory distress passed away yesterday.

This brings KZN’s death toll up to seven.
While an 82-year-old woman from Western Cape also succumbed to the illness.
Meanwhile president Cyril Ramaphosa chaired a meeting with the Coordinating Committee of the African Union’s Continental Response to Covid-19 yesterday.

Ramaphosa is also the current chairperson of the African Union.
The member countries shared their experiences, agreed to continue exchanging best practices and embark on strategies to fundraise jointly to fight the pandemic.
