Coronavirus: Easter services to go ahead in KZN
Easter church services can go ahead in the province.
The council met in Durban on Thursday to discuss how churches would need to adapt to the pandemic.
Council chair, Cardinal Wilfrid Napier says, "We will continue with the Easter services, but we will take every precaution that is necessary."
"We need to engage with government in regard to the supply of water to the areas where there are water problems, but also we think that they should supply sanitisers and soap in order to help people to avoid picking up the contagion and then passing it on to others."
Many churches have already postponed their Easter activities and services - including Palm Sunday.
Napier feels Easter celebrations are important.
"In that case, we shouldn't be talking here. I think that's their simple answer. If all human contact is to stop then, I don't see how we can continue living a human life."

The Cardinal lifted the obligation to attend Sunday mass.
Meanwhile, coronavirus awareness campaigns are to be rolled out at taxi ranks across KwaZulu-Natal.
The Health MEC says they are reaching out to commuters - as the country intensifies the fight against COVID-19.
Nomagugu Simelane-Zulu says they are teaming up with taxi council SANTACO to boost hygiene measures.
Hand sanitisers will be made available - they are also looking at branding some vehicles with information on the virus.
"The taxi industry, just like the Department of Health servers a majority of the population in the province and in the country generally so the willingness of the industry to work with us is very heartening."
