SZA: 'My voice is permanently injured'
Updated | By Tamlyn Canham
US singer SZA has done some serious damage to her vocal chords.
SZA shocked her fans this week when she revealed that her vocal chords have been badly injured as a result of a gruelling 11-month tour.
The 'All the Stars' singer recently missed a few tour dates as a result of her vocal chords swelling up.
Her record label, Top Dawg, released a statement last week saying, "she has to rest her voice to prevent any permanent damage".
The 27-year-old, who has been touring for the past 11-months, wrote on Instagram: "I’m not sick my voice just won’t fu*king work. If I don’t pause now I’ll be forced to pause permanently."
But judging by her latest tweets, the damage has already been done and she is not happy about it.
SZA returned to the TDE Championship Tour on Tuesday night, but it might not have been the best decision considering her vocal chord issues.
""My voice is permanently injured. Great !!!!!!!!!!! YAYYYYYUUYH," she wrote in a since-deleted tweet.
"I jus[t] wanna be left alone, my priorities are fu*ked up... I need space goodbye," SZA added.
