Forbes' top five wealthiest Hip Hop artists of 2018

Forbes has released its 2018 list of Hip Hop’s Wealthiest Artists and Jay-Z is leading with a whopping $900-million fortune.

The mogul managed to increase his fortune from $810 million to $900 million over the past year, Forbes reports.

This is due to his music, his stakes in Roc Nation and TIDAL, and his liquor brands, Armand de Brignac champagne and D’Usse cognac.

Jay-Z beat Diddy, who has been leading for the past five years. This year, however, Diddy is sitting at number two with an $825-million fortune.

At number three is Dr. Dre with a $770-million fortune. This is an increase from his last year's $740-million fortune.

Jay-Z, Diddy, and Dr. Dre are not only the wealthiest hip-hop artists in the world, but the richest American musicians of any genre, Forbes reports.

After Dr. Dre comes Drake and Eminem, tied at $100 million.

The two have been breaking records recently, with Drake's 'God's Plan' song named the second song in history to be streamed more than 100-million times in a week.
