Life outside of One Direction is proving to be just as successful for the group's five stars.

Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson, and Niall Horan are all working on solo careers, and have already proven that they can hold their own outside of the group.

Harry, Zayn, and Niall are all enjoying major airplay on the Coca-Cola Top 40 chart.

Niall has two songs on the chart, 'This Town' at number 32, and 'Slow Hands' at number 34.

With all the attention the boys still get from their millions of fans, Niall is staying grounded thanks to some advice he received from some famous friends.

He told Billboard magazine that when he met The Eagles during a gig in Toronto, Joe Walsh shared some words of wisdom with him about fame.

"You better enjoy the ride, because one day you’re going to be sitting on your own balls.”

The band's Don Henley also shared some words of wisdom with the 23-year-old, and the pair keep in touch.

"Don Henley and I talk every couple weeks or so. It’s mad. I call him ‘Dad’. He calls me ‘Son'," Niall told the publication.

It seems Niall's music idols are just as impressed with him as he is with them.

“Niall is a solid guy whose focus is right where it ought to be: on songwriting. He’s got the Irish charm and a healthy, self-effacing sense of humor, which is an essential survival tool in this business. I think that Niall will evolve into a resonant, thoughtful voice for his generation," Don told Billboard magazine.
