KZN Rhino Watch taken to new heights!

There's been exciting developments on the KZN Rhino Watch front. Based on the success of our project, Ezemvelo KZN Wildlife has stepped in and secured it for the next year - at least!
If you missed the big news on The Breakfast Stack this morning, around KZN Rhino Watch, here’s a recap for you. Based on the success of our project, Ezemvelo KZN Wildlife has stepped in and secured it for the next year - at least!
They’ve signed one year contracts for TWO bigger helicopters, one of them our King Shaka chopper, which will service the entire Zululand region – both Parks board and private game farms – to help ensure the fight against rhino poaching is taken to new heights!
It’s a commitment of R4-million – and is likely to be extended for 2 years. The money we’ve raised for KZN Rhino Watch will be used to fund additional flying hours, or banked until it’s needed should the contract come to an end.
And King Shaka’s confirmed that the larger, Robinson R44 helicopter was delivered to Hluhluwe at the weekend, meaning that it's already in operation, which is fantastic news!
Listen to more from The Breakfast Stack's announcement below.
Below, a clip from Justin Lowe of King Shaka Aviation. Of course it’s their chopper and pilot that have been stationed at Hluhluwe-iMfolozi Park.
Here he welcomes the latest announcement:
Thank you to all our listeners who've supported this project. We would not have achieved this success without you.
** Di Macpherson will be back with her usual update on the project next Wednesday at 9.35!
