Market madness in Durban

Market madness in Durban

It’s the last weekend before Christmas and it seems the only thing on Durbanites’ minds is shopping. In true Durban style, we've all left it to the last minute. Never fear, there's still plenty spending pleasures to be had.

It's market overload this weekend!

TONIGHT

Carpe Durban
If you're babysitting that croc-wearing cousin from Pretoria and you're desperate for a bit of a jol then make your way down to the Durban institution, the infamous Winston. The cool kids throw a Carpe Durban party every Thursday, so get involved.

FRIDAY

Up Market
It's the last Up Market of the year at the Grenada Square in Umhlanga. Get those last minute Christmas goodies and a grab a fresh burrito while you’re at it.

Southbroom NYE pre-party:
This one is definitely for all the party starters in the house. Practice your New Year's Eve party game in Southbroom this Saturday as the boys from Tokio Nightclub show off their skills.

The Incidentals @ Amsterdam:
Davenport Road is the place to be this Friday night. Durban's favourites The Incidentals will be playing live at Amsterdam. The boys from The Florida Keys in Florida Road have opened a new spot right across the road, so I definitely suggest a pub crawl.

SATURDAY

I Heart Market:
The weather hasn't been great for I Heart Market this month so if you haven't yet made an appearance, mosey on down to Moses Mabhida to support local crafters and designers. I braved it in the rain last weekend and left with about five presents for myself. Go on. Spoil yourself.

SUNDAY

Bulwer Market:
Although the Bulwer market isn't the biggest on our Durban market scene it's always worth a visit. With the KZNSA gallery and Buzzart market right around the corner plus an array of activities for the kids, this is the place to be on Sunday.
