KZN schools help bring joy

From John Wesley School in Eshowe to Longmarket Girls School in PMB to Nkosbomvu Secondary in Tongaat to Kingsway High School in Toti, the response from pupils to our Toy Story campaign has been phenomenal.

Some 30 schools across KZN have already got behind East Coast Radio’s Toy Story with Game campaign, to help ill and disadvantaged little ones in our province.

At a special movie screening in Gateway this morning, children from Clifton School in Durban, Kuswag School in ‘Toti, New Forest School in Montclair and Cygnet Preparatory School in Westville donated 230 toys to the initiative, which is now in its 14th year.

Little Talitha Beyleveld from Kuswag School brought a whopping 83 toys with her for the campaign!

Presenter Jane Linley-Thomas chatted to the children before the movie screening, and praised them for all they have done to bring some joy and hope for sick and destitute children all over KZN.

“We are simply blown away at how the children of our province are going all out to help other children who are less fortunate. It is both heart-warming and humbling at the same time,” says Jane.

If your school would like to get involved too, email [email protected] to request a collection box. This will be delivered to your school and we will fetch it once it’s full.

Last Friday, R165 000 was raised in Newcastle in Northern KZN during a live broadcast there. The funds will be used to buy food parcels for child-headed homes to make sure the children do not go hungry over the long December holidays.

East Coast Radio’s Toy Story with Game campaign wraps up on 17 December 2014.
