JHB Flash flood: A brave long-distance truck driver pulled a drowning woman out of her car and another person gave her CPR on the back of his truck.

Flash floods struck parts of Johannesburg and the East Rand late on Wednesday afternoon, resulting in four deaths.

Cars were swept away by flash floods, leaving motorists stranded, while major highways - the N3 and R24 - came to a standstill as a result of flooding.

One woman got stuck in her flooded car and an unknown long-distance truck driver pulled her out of her car and put her at the back of his truck.

According to a Facebook post by SA long-distance truckers, the woman was given CPR by another woman who was stuck in traffic, but unfortunately it was too late.

We urge motorists not to drive into flooded areas. This is dangerous and people often underestimate the power of water.
