We are all feeling the pinch when it comes to the aftermath of the lockdown level 4 restrictions. Some are using their circumstances to their advantage, while others are just stuck between a rock and a hard place.

When it comes to the service industry, it hasn't been an easy time. So in light of that, East Coast Radio has partnered with Lottoland and in celebration of a decade on East Coast Radio Breakfast, Darren Maule will be spearheading an amazing initiative for the service industry.

We saw this video online and thought that this is the kind of thing that gets us feeling motivated to help those that have been affected the most by the pandemic. We are empathetic to all those industries affected, but when it comes to the restaurant and entertainment industry, there has been no way out...

So in honour of workers such as these, Darren's Decade has dedicated it's time to the Tip Jar initiative. This is a call for event organisers and restaurant owners to nominate who they know in the hospitality or entertainment industries, and East Coast Radio and Lottoland could be giving them a tip from a share of R300,000 in Darren’s Tip Jar.

As we approach a time that doesn't allow us much foresight into the future, we have to take what we can and make the most of it. So in terms of making the best of what we can, we encourage you to take this opportunity to show someone you have worked with from the restaurant and entertainment industry, that they deserve more, and make that nomination.

An act of kindness never goes unnoticed and as much as that shouldn't be your driving force, it should show you that in a time that we all feel alone, shouldn't we all stand together because there's something the pandemic did, it connected us.
