Why do some people develop addictions and others not?

This is a very interesting. Do you agree with this?

When is comes to addiction we tend to swing between the following interpretations. Addiction is moral or personal weakness or that your brain is effectively hijacked by the drug.
The latter will advocate detoxing, and therapy to prevent relapsing. The former moral re-education, or perhaps you will be viewed as a lost case.
