South Africans shared their opinions on Thandi Modise's age, following the announcement that she'd be the speaker of the National Assembly after taking over from Baleka Mbete.

Thandi Modise was the chairperson of the National Council of Provinces (NCOP) and nominated by the ANC to be the new speaker at a special national executive committee (NEC) meeting in Cape Town.
She is 59 years of age.

Her age became a trending topic on social media, with many questioning why parliament and leaders are never in their 30's?! And that begged the question from Damon Beard; would you trust being lead by a 30-year-old in parliament?
