Baby Siwaphiwe's dad still supports his wife

After everything that has happened with the #BabySiwaphiwe case, Christopher Mbambo is still standing by his wife. For better or worse, right? However, when do you stop and draw the line when it comes to loving and supporting your partner?

It was a story that was all over the radio in 2017.

Baby Siwaphiwe disappeared back in March 2017 and was rescued safely after a frantic search. East Coasters everywhere came together to find this child, only to find out that her mom, Sibongile Mbambo, and her lover were involved with the disappearance.

I remember the day clearly. I was on my way home after my show and I heard our Newswatch team talk about the baby. I had such a lump in my throat. My first thought was, 'How could someone do something like this?'. However, when I heard that the mother was involved, I was beside myself. So many thoughts went through my mind - most were filled with anger and confusion. How does a mother do something like this to an innocent child?

The mom and her lover were arrested last March after police investigated and caught them out. It seems as though now she is pleading guilty to charges of fraud and defeating the ends of justice.

Even after all that's happened, Sibongile's husband, Christopher, has stood by her. According to Times Live, he has even tried to justify what she did. Loving your partner is one thing, but how far is too far?

I managed to get a comment from Jarryd Subroyen, a fellow colleague who is from our Newswatch team. He was at the court for the proceedings recently. Listen to what he has to say in the podcast then read more below.
