Johannesburg skyline picture is taking over social media

This year’s winter solstice coincided with a Strawberry Moon
– a once-in-a-lifetime occurrence, and one South African photographer has
captured the magnificent moment.

On Tuesday, Shaun and I were talking about how the 21st of June is the Winter Solstice. For some arb reason, out of all the things I learnt in school, the winter solstice stayed in my brain.
Basically, what the solstice is, is a astronomical phenomenon that marks the shortest day and the longest night of the year. In the southern hemisphere, where we are, it is the June solstice, and in the Northern hemisphere, it is the December solstice.
This year was a special solstice because it coincided with a Strawberry moon, a once-in-a-lifetime occurrence.
Check out these awesome pics from photographer Andrew Cleland as he captured Tuesday’s beauty in Johannesburg.
Man! What a wonderful world!
