China installs ingenious device to help combat jaywalking
Updated | By Damon Beard
Using innovative technology, China has come up with a solution to help stop pedestrians who break the law in their tracks.

To stop pedestrians jaywalking, China has installed a system that sprays water onto people who try to cross the road when they aren’t supposed to.
If you walk past the yellow posts fitted with facial recognition technology while the traffic light is red, you’re going to get squirted with water.
According to Daily Mail, the yellow posts measure 1,6 feet and were placed on the pavements of China's Hubei's province.

The system seems to be working, because from this video, it can been seen that an unsuspecting pedestrian looked like she was caught on a Leon Schuster movie when the water sprayed her, and she jumped back onto the sidewalk, giving the yellow post a nasty glare. Hilarious!
If the water wasn’t bad enough, any jaywalking offenders will have their pic snapped and displayed on a large display screen near the crossing for all to see.

I think this is a great idea, and if this doesn't stop pedestrians in their tracks, I don't know what will?
