Getting behind the wheel of a vehicle after consuming alcohol is a severe crime. The consequences could be deadly for both the person drinking and driving and for the people operating on the same road as them.

Some of the dangers of drinking under the influence include:

Lack of coordination. Heavy drinking affects your motor skills, such as eye, hand, and foot coordination. Without crucial coordination skills, you may be unable to avoid a threatening, harmful situation. It can also reduce concentration. No matter how much or how little, any alcohol can influence your abilities. With driving, many things require your undivided attention, such as staying in your lane, your speed, other cars on the road, and traffic signals.

Your vision becomes impaired in after drinking. You may notice that your vision is blurred or that you’re unable to control your eye movement. Impaired vision can affect how you judge the distance between your car and other vehicles on the road.

With all that information out in the open, people still get caught for drinking and driving. South African television presenter, actress, and radio DJ Pabi Moloi has admitted in a Twitter post that she was arrested for drinking and driving. The incident took place on Thursday night.

Although Moloi did not go into much detail, she did say that she had a few drinks and decided to drive herself home.

From what we could gather from her social media post, she is remorseful for the incident and wanted all her fans to know that.

"I had drinks and decided to drive myself on Thursday night. It was a bad decision for which I take full responsibility."

Some were sympathetic and appreciated her coming forward

Others were convinced she wouldn't have apologised if she did not get caught.
