In the past month, I have heard of two separate stories of mates who have been scammed by good friends, and by that, I mean friends who come to your home for dinner and hang out as families together. Its hard to believe, right? In both cases, both parties who went into a business relationship were taken for a lot of money.

I mean, obviously, the financial implication is devastating but for me, the disappointment of having misread someone who you trusted must be so disheartening.
This was exactly the emotion that I felt when I got this really upsetting and disappointing message from a woman who shared how she was scammed really badly by a colleague whom she trusted. They initially were going to go into business together, but clearly, the scammer had other plans.

Thankfully, I have never (touch wood) been scammed before, but after hearing the frustration in this woman's voice, I can only begin to imagine how betrayed one feels during this situation.

Trust is not something easy to come by, and when it's broken in this manner, it's something that really affects and shakes you to your core. Hearing stuff like this saddens me.
