German mom names child 'Lucifer', authorities intervene
The question that many asked after hearing what these parents wanted to name their son was: "What were they thinking?!".
If you are a parent or a soon-to-be parent, you would know that while deciding what colour to paint your baby's room is important, choosing the name for your unborn child has to be one of the biggest and most daunting decisions ever.

A mom from Germany has come under fire after wanting to name her baby 'Lucifer'. According to News24, authorities had to step in when parents wanted to register their baby boy with the name.
Authorities anticipated that the well-being of the child could be compromised and his life could be endangered during his childhood for having the name. The parents decided to change their son's name to Lucian - obviously a more suited choice.

Although the government does not have the right to tell parents what to name their children, in this case they have saved the child from having to go through childhood being ridiculed for the name 'Lucifier'.
Celebrities are famous for using strange names to give to their children. Some of the strange names they've used include:

- Apple (Gwyneth Paltrow and Coldplay star, Chris Martin)
- Maddox (Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt)

So there's no limits to what you can name your child, but be wary of the name you choose as it could have the ability to affect their childhood.
