Creative Director of DUT Fashion Show chats to Jane
Updated | By Jane Linley-Thomas
The annual fashion show will take place between 4 - 6 October at the campus' Fred Crookes Sports Centre.

In 2016, I had the honour of being a judge at DUT's Department of Fashion and Textiles fashion showcase.
I was invited by the glorious splendors that are Gideon (Creative Director) and Gianpaolo Bresolin (Assistant Creative Director) and got to meet the gracious Jackie Burger - which was a career highlight for me.

I literally was moved to tears by what I saw and experienced. It's one thing seeing an ensemble pass you on a runway but when I went and looked at the work up close, I was bowled over by the quality, innovation and all-around look and feel of each garment. The creativity and execution literally gave me goosebumps.
To think that these students are still studying is mind-boggling for me to fathom. Rhe potential and future ahead is one that shines brightly for these students.
I have never been so proud to be a Durban girl. We are days away from the next showcase and I can't wait to see what they have in store.
Take a listen as I catch up with Gideon ahead of the fashion show in the podcast below.
Tickets cost only R50 and are available from Computicket. To purchase, click here.
