A recent video has taken social media by storm, showing a South African teacher using a brick to smash a line of vapes confiscated from students at school.

The video has sparked a heated debate, with some people finding it amusing while others express concern for the youth and the teacher's methods.

The video's impact is undeniable, with viewers divided in their opinions. On one hand, some locals can't help but laugh at the dramatic gesture, while on the other hand, many are worried about the implications of such actions and the vaping culture among young people.

Vaping has become a significant issue worldwide, with many countries grappling with its effects on youth. In some cases, vapes have been laced with synthetic drugs, leading to severe health consequences.

Previously, East Coast Radio reported on the real-life damages of vaping, including popcorn lung. Popcorn lung is a type of lung disease that scars the tiniest airways in your lungs (called bronchioles). That scar tissue blocks airflow and makes it hard to breathe.

The name came from actual popcorn factory workers who developed the illness after inhaling a chemical called diacetyl, which is used in buttery flavourings.

That same chemical has been found in many vape liquids.

While it’s banned in e-liquids in places like the UK, it hasn’t been completely eliminated everywhere.
