With tears in her eyes and courage in her steps, Mrs Hlatshwayo honoured her daughter's academic journey and the dreams she worked so hard to achieve.
According to DUT, Sinenhlanhla's passing on November 14, 2024, left her family and friends in shock and grief. Despite the pain, Mrs Hlatshwayo found the strength to attend the graduation ceremony, knowing it was the least she could do to honour her daughter's hard work and commitment to her studies.
As Mrs Hlatshwayo accepted the diploma, she held onto the hope that her daughter's achievement would motivate her younger siblings to further their studies and work towards improving their lives.
The Information and Communications Technology (ICT): Applications Development diploma is now a symbol of Sinenhlanhla's legacy. It will remain a cherished keepsake for the family.
The DUT community came together to pay tribute to Sinenhlanhla's life, observing a moment of silence during the ceremony. Dr. Maditsane Nkonoane, DUT Registrar, extended heartfelt condolences to the late student's family, friends and the ICT department.
