#TrendReport: Synthetic Sips
Augmented reality is a big buzzword in tech at the moment as people work out ways to enhance our senses. So far this has usually been about what we see and hear, but a new concept is looking to change the way we taste too.
It’s called Vocktail, and it’s a glass that combines lighting, scent, and an electrode that interacts with your tongue to make you perceive different tastes when all you’re drinking is plain water. It’s an interesting approach to the technology that could have quite serious implications for the health and wellness industry.

As Chris Reid, Trend Researcher at the International Trend Institute explained to Jane Linley-Thomas recently, it may not quite be taking us into pure science fiction territory, but it does show how the technological and organic are getting closer every day.
