I recently overheard a woman at a children's party over the weekend saying that she reckons in this day and age, it's hard to be a man as women are so hungry for independence and gone are the days of men being the breadwinner.

I was quite surprised when a guy stood up at the table and chimed into the conversation. The first thing that came to my mind was 'oh gosh, I wonder what's going to go down here', but I was pretty surprised by his response to the woman's comment.

He revealed that he felt emasculated in this day and age as the world seemed geared up and ready to embrace a corporate woman, rather than a man. Just yesterday, I saw a t-shirt that read the 'Future is female'. I quite like the idea that as men and women, we focus on our strengths and work together. There is enough cake to go around for us all, don't you think?
