A police dashcam caught the incredible moment that a huge fireball lit up the sky.
The meteor was spotted over New England and eastern Canada.
A police department posted the video they captured on the dashcam to social media and it has been shared thousands of times.
One of the officers who saw the meteor flash in front of him is heard saying: ‘Oh my God’.
The first words that come to mind are those from Jerry Lee Lewis, 'goodness, gracious, great balls of fire'
What a chance sighting, you can hear the police officer's disbelief as his dashcam becomes illuminated.
