East Coast Drive is on a mission to recognise our frontline heroes in KZN, those people who are considered an essential service and are not able to safely tuck themselves away at home like the rest of us but on the contrary have to risk infection of themselves and their family members... in order to keep the country afloat.

Vinny Pillay of ER24 is said to never look for recognition and it's all in a days work which he performs wholeheartedly.

Vinny's brother in law even said: "I have to ask myself if he is superhuman aside from serving the people of KZN medically, he serves his family with the same dedication and it's definitely not easy when you are a shift worker."

East Coast Drive was able to speak to Vinny about the risk of working during this time as an essential worker. He even went as far as to talk about if he has ever had an encounter with a patient who was tested positive for corona.

VINNY from the whole of South Africa, we thank you for the work you do to keep this country afloat and alive. You are a true Frontline Hero. Thank you for taking the time to speak to us on East Coast Drive.

You’ll find them in the hospitals, on the front lines, in the grocery stores and even at your front door, delivering your essentials. They might not be wearing capes, but these Frontline Heroes are going above-and-beyond every single day of lockdown.

That’s why PURA Soda & East Coast Radio are looking for you to tell us about your unsung heroes who are making a difference and helping people to live a little PURA during lockdown.

Just email [email protected] and they could win a refreshing PURA Soda hamper.
