At times, parents may disagree with the choices that their children make and lash out at them. But when a parent makes the choice to disown a child for being who they are, it's a decision that they have to live with for the rest of their life.

A 27-year-old man was disowned by his parents when he was younger for a lifestyle choice. He had to live out on his own and made a life for himself.
Then something happened that changed his views on his situation, and it concerned the man who disowned him in the first place.
Hey Bongani and Mags, I’m a 27-year-old gay guy. My parents kicked me out when I was just 16 when I told them I was gay. I had to fend for myself. They completely disowned me and never spoke to me again. That was until recently when my mom got hold of me. She says my dad is on his deathbed and she needs help taking care of him. I don’t know what to do. Please help.- Anonymous
After all, he still is his father, but is it too late to mend fences and forget the past - especially now that the dad is dying?
