As there's still a chill in the air, getting out of bed during the icy cold mornings or in the rain is never easy. One has to be mentally prepared for getting ready to conquer the roads out there.

Attain 'that' level of mental strength by setting a goal for yourself. Having a compelling reason why you run will see you getting closer to your goal.

Here are some easy mental strength tips for runners:

1. Gain Control of your breathing - avoid early panic

2. Maintain a positive mindset - when life happens during a race

3. Have a positive mantra - a quote that you'll say to yourself when the going gets tough

4. Dissociate the body from the mind - think about all the nice things you will be doing after the race while your body is hard at work.
