Are women safe driving late at night - even from the cops?

Is it safe to drive alone late at night as a woman, especially when danger could come from just about anywhere and anyone?

On Thursday, Mags told a story on air about her driving home the other night at around 11:00pm.

She hadn't been drinking, but a cop started flashing blue lights behind her and pulled her over.
"I'm in the dark and the street is quiet, so I put my hazards on and keep driving to find a busier spot where there are other people around," she said.
The cop became aggressive and started to sway from side to side and put his siren on. Mags continued to drive with hazards on until eventually she pulled over at a petrol station where there were other people around.
As South Africans, we live in a dangerous time and who we can trust has become an issue. It has come to a point where it is better to be safe than sorry.
We found this video which shows a cop losing his cool after a truck driver refused to pull over 'in the bushes'.
