We definitely love how dedicated Keri Miller is as a godmother.

She has been present for most of the journey before and after Baby Kai's arrival. 

WATCH: He popped the question and an emotional Keri Miller said "Yes!"

But what exactly are the duties of a godmother? Should you have one for your child; should you not? 

The dictionary definition of godparent is “a person who promises to help teach and guide someone in religious matters as part of a Christian baptism ceremony.” 

But there is so much the godparent can do outside of the religious aspects...

Let's just say they are a 'glorified' version of an aunt or uncle, right? 

But they get to be there for your child as someone who forms a more special bond with your kid.

They can be there for career advice, relationship chats, financial lessons, and so much more.

It is actually having an adult as your best friend from the moment you're born. 

Soccer matches, concerts, recitals, and award ceremonies... you name it. 

In some friendship groups, the godparent would take on the responsibilities of being an actual guardian should both the parents die.
