You love to hate this song, but you cannot help but dance and sing along!
Pen-Apple-Pineapple-Pen song has made history being the first Japanese song to get into the U.S. Billboard top 100 singles in 26 years.
The music video has received global recognition with 65 million YouTube views and bred 40,000 lip-synching videos uploaded to the internet.
Pikotaro is the genius behind the popular song. His real name is Kazuhito Kosaka, and is known as PPAP the Japanese comedian who was inspired to write the song when he was visiting a friend in the studio who played the songs' beat.
He picked up a pen to begin writing and thought about Kosaka, who comes from apple country. An open can of pineapples was sitting on the table, and “pen-pineapple-apple-pen” was born.
