What’s the absolute worst part about going to the mall?

Or is it that soul-destroying moment when you realise you still need to pay for parking… and there’s a queue longer than the month of January?

For me? It’s hands down that last one - while praying you haven’t passed the “one free hour” mark.

Well, good news my fellow queue-haters. There’s an app for that.

Meet Admyt: Your new parking bestie

Admyt is a ticketless parking app that lets you skip the queue, open the boom gate like a VIP, and pay for your parking seamlessly through your phone.

No paper ticket. No loose coins. No drama. Just vibes.

How does it work?

It’s surprisingly simple. Admyt uses number plate recognition technology.

When you arrive at a participating mall, a camera scans your plate, and boom (literally), the gate opens.

When you leave, it scans you again, deducts the parking fee from your Admyt wallet (plus a R1 convenience fee because… capitalism), and off you go.

No queues, no waiting, no “where did I put that ticket?” panic.

It’s basically the e-toll tag you actually want to use.

How do you pay?

Easy-peasy. You preload your Admyt wallet with cash, and it deducts your parking charges as you go mall-hopping.

And here’s a nice touch: If you forget to top up and your wallet runs dry, they’ll still let you leave (legends), but your account will just go into arrears.

The next time you add funds, it settles up automatically.

Where can you use it?

Admyt’s currently live at multiple malls across the Western Cape and Gauteng.

Here in KZN, you’ll currently find it at Ballito Junction and Galleria Mall… with more locations (hopefully) on the way. (Dear Gateway and Pavilion, take notes.)
