KZN Fishing: Autumn action heats up
Updated | By Vinesh Soogreem & ECR
KwaZulu-Natal's autumn fishing season is in full swing, delivering excellent angling across the province.

From the KZN North Coast to the South Coast, and inland waters, fishing is busy with a great variety of species being caught – kob, snoek, tuna, brusher, sharks, and more.
Both offshore and inshore hotspots are producing well, and even the stillwaters are active with trout.
With only two weeks left in the trout river season, and the South Coast seeing good catches daily, now is a prime time to get on the water.
The full moon and spring tides are also lining up. Anglers should get their gear ready and perhaps listen to the latest Deep Dive episode on moon and tide fishing for useful information to make this weekend a successful one.
Just to highlight some recent catches:
- Dean Reddy landed a very impressive kob off the North Coast (as per cover image).
- Dawie De Bryne caught a blacktip kingfish down the South Coast (see below).

- Hitesh Ramdeva has been catching grey sharks at Scottburgh, like this one, below.

Nishkar Suggoo had a great bass fishing session at Albert Falls. See the results below!

This is just a snapshot of the current fishing in KZN.
