#HotSeat: Kyle Abbott finally opens up about CSA

He has been branded a traitor and spoilt brat. Kyle Abbott finally tells all in this exclusive interview.

Earlier this year, the South African cricket scene was rocked by news that Proteas fast bowler Kyle Abbott had turned his back on the national team and signed a Kolpak deal to play for Hampshire for the next four years.

As a result, CSA terminated his contract, which saw Abbott lose all rights to represent the Proteas in any format of the game.

Abbott had been a sensation for the Proteas, always delivering when needed, so the news of him going abroad didn't go down too well with cricket fans.

He was branded a traitor, spoilt brat, and villain.

With twelve Test matches and 39 wickets under his belt, Abbott, at the age of 29, made a decision that many say he will regret.

The big question is: "Why now?" He is at the peak of his career and was slowly becoming an integral part of SA cricket.

For the first time after weeks of silence, Abbott felt he had to set the record straight and answer all those critics.

He joined us on the East Coast Breakfast Show for an interview that will arguably go down as the most honest in cricket history.

Listen and share.
