Ever lost something weird? These people win
Updated | By East Coast Breakfast
Turns out we’re all a little forgetful, but THESE lost items take the cake!

Look, we’ve all lost a phone, wallet, or our minds before. It happens.
However, according to Uber’s latest Lost & Found Index, some people are losing things that honestly raise more questions than answers.
Phones, keys and wallets still top the list (no surprises there), but mixed in with the usual suspects are some truly bizarre items that had us confused.
Here’s a quick taste of the strangest things people left behind in Ubers last year:
- A Viking drinking horn
- 15 hookahs (someone was ready for a vibe!)
- A mannequin head with actual human hair
- A Ghostbusters ghost trap (Who you gonna call? The driver.)
- A urinal (We have… so many questions.)
- A pair of Shrek ears
- A divorce file (Yikes. That ride probably got dramatic.)
- Sticky boob bra (Hey, it happens.)
- 10 live lobsters (That driver must’ve been freaked out!)
- A portrait of themselves in a brown box (Self-love is important, people.)
Check out the full list of items here.
We couldn’t make this stuff up even if we tried.
It got us thinking though…
What’s the weirdest thing you’ve ever lost – maybe in an Uber, somewhere on Earth, or maybe at your mate’s place after a questionable night out?
Well, a few KZN listeners, shared their stories of the craziest and most inconvenient items they’ve lost.
Sky Tshabalala has a habit of losing his gate remote. Like – every time he gets into an Uber. He's currently on his fourth remote.
One listener lost a roll of toilet paper on a camping trip! Sheesh...talk about a rough situation! We hope the leaves were kind.
Another listener says he's lost his mind (highly inconvenient). Honestly, in this economy, mental stability is a luxury item. We’ve misplaced ours somewhere between petrol prices and Eskom stage 6.
The craziest "item" came from Darren's mother. He "misplaced" (as he put it) something so inconvenient, it's unbelievable.
Take a listen:
PS: If you’ve left something behind in an Uber (yes, even your mannequin head), you can get it back with a few taps in the app.
Sadly, your dignity after a dodgy night out is non-refundable.
