Courageous mother of four went from lawyer to 'Vampire Woman'

There is something liberating about moving on from a toxic unhealthy environment and into your best self aware version of yourself. You realize how much power you have over your own life therefore everything around you. 

The moment 45-year-old María José Cristerna decided she was done being in an abusive marriage, she transformed completely.

The world record holder of the Guinness World Record for the most body modifications has 49 body modifications in total. The include fanged teeth, a range of transdermal implants on her forehead, chest and arms, as well as multiple piercings in her eyebrows, nose, tongue, ear lobes, belly button and nipples, and a split tongue andI titanium horns on her head.

The Mexican wonder is popularly known as “Vampire Woman”, or, as she prefers, “The Jaguar Woman”. 

With every tattoo and body modification, she felt she was closer to leaving her abusive marriage. It became a form of activism for her her strength and courage. 

It took ten years for to her to finally leave the abusive environment and reach this liberated version of herself that feared absolutely nothing.

The former lawyer now owns a tattoo studio and a clothing shop and also works as a DJ.

She gained a lot of fame because of her appearance between 2010 - 2013. 

She even become a popular feature at tattoo festivals around the world and Ripley’s Believe It or Not! has erected a wax statue of her in its museums.

She recently shared this with a talent agency:

“I have used my body as a canvas… I am expressing beauty through my art for the world to see, God lives inside of me, and I believe it is what I do daily for others and my actions that make me who I am, not how I look or my appearance. 

Yes I like people to look at me… but I am a product of my experiences and what I have seen around me since very young. I have always been different!”

Maria is that inspiration that you do not have to follow anyone's rules for your own life.
