The Breakfast team really got to know each other on roadshow

Darren, Keri, and Sky travelled the country on a roadshow where they were practically in each other's space for more than 120 hours. They discovered a lot about each other during the adventure...

Travelling with your mates is always fun, but living with your colleagues for a full week can get a bit awkward!

Each person has their good and bad habits, but this team had to learn that the hard way. Here's what Darren, Keri, and Sky said they learned about each other.

Darren says this about Sky Tshabalala:

  • Sky packs light. One over-the-shoulder bag, whether he’s going for a weekend, a week or a month. Which explains why he borrows everything from everyone else. Charges, vape fluid, toothpaste etc.
  • He also fits in anywhere! Happy go lucky. Sleeps in anyone’s room, even if they just met.
  • Sky’s mom phones him every day. 'Baby, did you get on the plane', 'did you get off the plane', 'are you at the hotel', 'did you make it to the venue', 'is Keri under control'?

And this about Keri Miller:

She has phases of her wine tolerance:

  • Just a little and she’s charming and delightful.
  • Just too much and she is like an ADHD CHILD STUCK IN A HOT BROKEN ELEVATOR.
  • No drinking and she needs data so her friends and family can talk her down.

Keri says:

Firstly, WOW is all I can say. Their bromance is STRONG. Those two are like besties ALL THE TIME.

Sky Tshabalala

  • Does not have a girl/woman in every city, he has one in every suburb. I genuinely do not know how he has figured it all out, he is some mathematical genius who has managed to bend time and travel through space to make sure each of these besotted women have more than enough time and attention to feel like they are the one. It’s magical. And completely sexist. Also, I am incredibly glad I’m off his ‘smash’ radar.

Darren Maule

  • Disappears. I don’t know where he goes but he just isn’t there. Not at dinner. Not at breakfast. Not the bar. Not the pool. It’s just like when we’re home, I see him for work... then nothing. If Harry Potter was here I would swear they were sharing the invisibility cloak.

I really do love these boys.

Sky says:

Darren Maule:

  • Darren is old bruuuuuu..
  • Whilst some of us are having dinner and drinks as a team after the day's work, as soon as D gets to the hotel he locks his room, phone off, and goes straight to bed
  • He should become the new GPS for Joburg. The man knows the city inside out.
  • The best mate to travel with. He packs everything in twos.

Keri Miller:

  • Keri Miller is obsessed with yoga. Her first mission is to find a yoga studio.
  • She takes this vegan/banting/vegetarianism thing way to seriously. She has to Google the ingredients and even argues with the chef.
  • Keri hates Joburg. When we were in Cape Town - she was in the best mood ever. Smiling, joyful, and just a pleasure to be around AND THEN we arrived in Jozi. It was like she had been hit by a “mood swing virus” when we arrived in Joburg. She was short tempered, hated everyone, and just drank wine all day, everyday.

Some of these things sound very predictable, but others just got us thinking whether we really know this crazy bunch? But we are so glad they're back and wouldn't have it any other way!
