ANC member suspended after assaulting woman outside Luthuli House
Updated | By East Coast Breakfast
The African National Congress has confirmed that one of its members has been suspended following clashes that broke out during a protest and resulted in the assault of a woman. Darren shares his thoughts.

Thabang Setona was caught on camera kicking a woman during a scuffle between members of Black First Land First and the 'Defenders of Luthuli House'.
Members of the ANC described the incident as disgusting and made it clear that the party does not condone such behaviour.
What was meant to be a peaceful protest turned very ugly when violence took over and police had to intervene.

ANC spokesperson Jolidee Matongo says Setona has handed himself over to police.
“As the ANC in the Johannesburg region, we have already taken a decision to suspend him with immediate effect and instructed the disciplinary committee to institute the disciplinary processes. But I’m also pleased to announce to the public that he has already handed himself to the Johannesburg Central Police Station.”
The brutal video of Setona kicking a woman to the ground can be seen below.
