A video that had us screaming like seagulls with laughter captured the hilarious moment when a seagull snatched an expensive piece of steak from a couple's plate.

The pair were enjoying a lovely meal at a restaurant in France when they were surprised by the uninvited guest.

TikToker @tunmisee said she was having lunch at La Guerite in Cannes with her boyfriend when she was unpleasantly surprised by the seagull.

Moments after Tunmisee turned on her camera to capture the picturesque venue and singing along to the upbeat music in the background, the bird swooped in and grabbed a piece of steak on a separate plate in the middle of their table.

While she was delightfully enjoying her meal and singing to her boyfriend, the seagull left her screaming in shock.

According to Tunmisee, the steak cost 100 euros (R2,066). The seagulls in France clearly have a taste for the finer things in life.

The incident left us wondering whether this was something the restaurant experienced often.

It also got us thinking about our uninvited guests in South Africa, the monkeys and baboons.

Watch the video from Instagram below.

People came through with their hilarious comments.

  • "Seagull said, “she wanna sing and look cute, and that steak is getting cold. I got it.”
  • "At least it got her to stop singing."
  • "This video cuts off before the bird came back to complain he wanted it well done."
  • "That's what happens when you say Yalla Habibi 3 times. It summons the thrieving seagulls."
  • "That guy just wanted to eat in peace without karaoke, seagull did the lords job."
  • "She got humbled hard by the bird."
