Realbotix: Robots made for human interaction
Updated | By Udesha Moodley-Judhoo
What in the world? A tech company says they can customise a robot to look the way you want it to.

While many people have become reliant on ChatGPT and AI daily, it always seems surreal to discover how far technology has come.
What's even more intriguing is seeing how far technology is going. Many come from a time when the Terminator and Robocop were the only examples of what futuristic robotics looked like. While their portrayal was quite advanced, it wasn't without human intervention.
We recently encountered a story about an American man who spoke about his intimate relationship with his AI assistant. He even went as far as proposing.
A video interview with the CEO of Realbotix left many people stunned when he revealed how people could customise AI-powered humanoid robots. Andrew Kiguel believes that humanoid robots are some people's answer to loneliness and companionship.

"Realbotix designs AI-powered humanoid robots built for meaningful human interaction. Our assistive technology solutions enhance connection, learning, and play across various industries and personal environments," reports the Realbotix website.
Their tagline seems to be 'designing robots for better human interaction'. This includes things such as companionship, customer service and other business needs.
According to an Instagram post: "Taiwan is turning to AI-powered robots to reduce strain on healthcare staff. According to @foxnews, these robots assist with ward patrols and medicine delivery, giving nurses more time to focus on patient care."
But wait till you hear this, a fully customised robot retails for around $150,000 (R2.6 million).
